Item Salinity tolerance at cellular level of some high yielding local cultivars of Oryza sativa (rice)(University of Peradeniya. Peradeniya, 1998) Hiriburegama, K.; Basnayake, R.Five cultivars of rice (Oryza sativa) were tested for salinity tolerance at cellular level. Seed callus of the cultivars (BW 351, AT 354, BG 94-1, AT 402) was developed on Murasinghe and SkooItem Effect of postharvest calcium chloride vaccum infiltration on the shelf life and quality of tomato (CV. `Thina')(2010) Senevirathna, P.A.W.A.N.K.; Daundasekera, W.A.M.Item Development of suitable propagation techniques and management practices for the cultivation of the medicinal plant Piper longum L.(University of Peradeniya. J.K.MORTON) High frequency plant regeneration from leaf examples(1995) Rajapakse, D.P.; Mendis, M.H.; Ganashan, P.Leaf explants of innala (Solenostemon rotundifolius (Poir.)J.K.Morton) were cultured on media prepared with MS salts, organic constituenets of NN,sucrose (40g/IW/V)and growth regulators.NAA,2,4-D,BAP andKn were used as growth regulators. Callus formation and subsequent shoot regeneration from cultured explants were observed in the presence of 0.8-1.0 mg/I BAP in the medium. When low concentration (0.5mg/I) of NAA was present in the medium, a higher level(5-6mg/I) of BAP was required for induction of shoots. The frequency of callus formation or shoot regeneration in such was as high as 100.
